Background[]
Amehiko is a servant for the Hachikai Residence in Kyoto. When the princess, Young Lady, loses her pet, Momochiyo, Amehiko goes off to search for where he ran off to. Amehiko runs into the player and Momotarou and asks them for their help in searching for Momochiyo. Momotarou agrees in order to help a bug in need and Amehiko continues to search the town. Amehiko sees the player and Momotarou have almost captured Momochiyo and accidently startles him with his presence causing Momochiyo to race into Kyoukotsu's Lair.
Momotarou and the player return outside the cave with Momochiyo in hand and happy to finally have Momochiyo back safe asks if they would like to see Momochiyo's mother, Giant Mukade Momote.

Amehiko cannot be found anywhere in Kyoto until the quest "A Lost Little Centipede" is started. During the quest, Amehiko moves around constantly working with Momotarou and the player searching for Momochiyo. Only when the quest is completed does Amehiko settle down to the place inside Hachikai Residence.
