Background[]
Ensuke is a guard who patrols the north-east corner of Kyoto. He is a man who likes to sleep around with multiple women, but has gone clean for at least a month. He is also Miroku's best drinking buddy whenever Miroku is visiting Kyoto.
Ensuke gets into some trouble when a monster grabs his leg while patrolling Modoribashi Bridge. He asks for some help from Miroku to help defeat the monster, but they find out through a love letter that it was a ghost haunting him. He asks Miroku to help turn down Hashi-hime (NPC), the ghost, before she drags him down into the depths of the well, as stated in her love letter (Full Love Letter can be found in the quest "Hashihime in Love"). Miroku and the player are able to turn down the ghost and Ensuke owes Miroku a huge favor to be collected at a later time.
Miroku appears again before Ensuke with collection of the favor Ensuke promised for him earlier and Miroku wants the guard uniform Ensuke is wearing. Ensuke agrees, but only if the player and Miroku find the necessary materials for him to construct another uniform. This goes against the whole idea of a "favor", but Miroku agrees reluctantly. With his new uniform and old one shed for Miroku, Ensuke continues to patrol in the North-East sector of Kyoto.
Location[]
Ensuke first appears during the quest "Hashihime in Love" with his position in South Kyoto due to guarding Miroku's stuff. After completion of the quest, Ensuke has moved to Modoribashi Bridge which is located in North-East Kyoto where he currently resides.
