Momijina 2 lives in Ankan Forest, but upon the player's request decides to work with Hiraga Gennai in her research on how to turn Momijina's near non-stop motion into energy to run carts. Momijina 2, like other Momijina, can't seem to stand still for even a second as this ball of energy decides to spin and jump even during conversations.
Momijina 2 has become like an assistant for Hiraga Gennai helping her gather materials or guarding a door when she needed to repair Benkei. Momijina 2 has gone on travels with Hiraga Gennai and even traveled to Izumo-no-Okumi until they have to head back to Hiraga Gennai's main lab in Edo.

Momijina 2 is first seen at the end of Ankan Forest during the quest "The Nue and Lady Shizuka". Momijina 2 stays there until the quest "Hiraga Gennai's Research" where he moves to South Kyoto by Hiraga Gennai's side. He moves again to the more middle part of Kyoto during the quest "Repairing Benkei" until the player talks to Hiraga Gennai. During the same quest, Momijina 2 moves to a more southernly position just a little bit more north than his second position where he guards an inn door.
