Miroku sees the player as an amazing fighter and every bit as good as he thought you would be. The speed and force behind your attacks simply amazes him. He isn't trying to butter you up to buy or sell something, but actually does feel that way towards the player. Miroku isn't good at fighting, he carries a spear for protection, but once he gets some space he will run from the fight at full speed. He has no interest in winning a battle, but surviving it. Death is one thing he wants to avoid. He is confident that he will be fine no matter what happens as long as the player is around. He figures that the player will hold them off long enough for him to get away.
