Taiki lives in Kumaso Village and wanting to visit the local shrines in the area around town, goes off on his own to visit them. The Youkai find him and slowly push him deeper into the Hoori Shrine where he almost gets eaten until a strong multiple sword warrior defeats the Youkai, saving Taiki from his certain doom. Having almost seen death, Taiki breaks down to cry near the shrine until the player arrives to tell him that his mother, Sanae, is looking for him. The player and his entourage escort Taiki back to his mother and learns to not run off before saying where he is going.
