Kashiwade is a newspaper salesman in Yamataikoku. He works with Makoto the Reporter to sell newspapers that she writes up. His personal favorite stories are following the adventures of a powerful Oni, the player, who goes around defeating Kamikui. When he finds the Oni traveling through Yamataikoku, he waves him down and asks the Oni to show his fighting prowess in front of them by defeating 3 Ungaikyou. Their articles about the player were based off first-hand sources, but them being able to witness the events would increase their knowledge of the player.
